These earrings draw inspiration from the center of a cross pendant made in Colombia or Ecuador in the 1800s. Filigree, an ancient technique in Europe and the Americas, continued to be used throughout the Spanish colonial era.
The original piece is preserved in the Denver Art Museum.
Earrings are handmade out of .950 silver in Colombia by an artisan specialized in Spanish colonial filigree technique.
