This pendant is inspired by a mount for spear-shaft found in the Vermand Treasure, the most richly appointed barbarian-warrior grave ever discovered. It is believed to have belonged to the Late Roman period (3rd-5th century).
The original ornament is preserved in the Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) in New York.
Handmade in Colombia out of .950 silver by an artisan specialized in ancient filigree. Each piece is unique.
